Windows software installation questions.

• What Windows software do you install?

  Mainstream Windows software: Microsoft Office (365 or standalone), Adobe Creative Cloud, accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, TurboTax, Sage), browsers and email clients, video conferencing tools, business-specific software, drivers for peripherals, gaming clients (Steam, Epic, GOG, Game Pass), industry-specific software you have licenses for.

• Will Office activate on Windows 11 with my Office 2019 license?

  Yes, in essentially all cases. Office 2019 standalone is fully compatible with Windows 11. Microsoft 365 obviously works. Office 2016 also works, with the caveat that mainstream support ended; security updates continued for a while after but the timeline depends on which version specifically.

• Can you install older Windows software on Windows 11?

  Mostly yes. Windows 11 maintains good backward compatibility with Windows 10 software, and most pre-Windows-10 software works too. Very old software (16-bit Windows 3.x apps, certain Windows 95/98 apps) may have compatibility problems on 64-bit Windows 11. We diagnose during install if compatibility issues come up.

• My PC came with trial Office and trial AV. Should I keep them?

  If you have your own Office license, the trial Office is bloatware and we remove during install. If you don't have Office and want to subscribe, the trial converts to subscription if you choose to pay. Trial AV (McAfee, Norton) is almost always nagware that should be removed; Microsoft Defender is built into Windows and works well.

• Can you install QuickBooks for my small business?

  Yes. QuickBooks Desktop with proper license activation, company file migration from old computer if applicable, multi-user setup if multiple computers need access. QuickBooks Online is browser-based and just needs the browser configured.

• Will you install third-party antivirus?

  For most users, Microsoft Defender is sufficient and we don't install third-party AV. For specific situations (compliance requirements, business policy, customer preference), we install reputable products. We don't push paid AV subscriptions on customers who don't need them.

• Can you install drivers for an old printer or peripheral?

  Yes, when drivers are still available from the manufacturer. For very old peripherals where the manufacturer has stopped releasing drivers, we use Windows generic drivers (functional but limited) or honestly tell you the peripheral isn't supported on current Windows.

• How much does PC software installation cost?
