PC Repair in Buffalo, NY
We repair, upgrade and recover Windows machines at our drop-off shop: laptops, desktops, all-in-ones, gaming rigs and custom builds. This page collects every PC service we offer, each with its own detailed page. If you know what you need, take it from the list below. If the only thing you can say is that it has got slow, or it will not start, that is a perfectly normal starting point and the diagnostic exists for it.
We do not sell hardware. That matters more than it sounds, because the most common question we get is some version of "is this worth fixing," and we have nothing riding on the answer.
PC Services We Offer
PC Virus & Malware Removal
Pop-ups, browser hijacks, ransomware, scareware and full system infections on Windows 10 and 11. Real cleanup and verification, not a single scan and a shrug.
PC Data Recovery
Hard drives, SSDs and external drives. Failed drives, deleted files, machines that will not boot. Free evaluation before you commit to anything.
PC SSD Upgrade
The biggest single improvement available to a PC still running a mechanical drive. Your software and files come across; the machine simply stops making you wait.
PC Hard Drive Replacement
Failing or failed drives replaced with new SSDs, with data migrated across. Includes the drives that are technically still working but have started warning you.
PC RAM Upgrade
DDR4 and DDR5, properly matched to the board rather than whatever fits. Solves the memory warnings and the browser-heavy, many-tabs slowdown.
PC Laptop Battery Replacement
Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Surface and gaming laptops. Worn batteries, and swollen batteries, which are a safety problem rather than an inconvenience.
PC Diagnostics
For unclear faults, intermittent crashes and second opinions on someone else's quote. Free with any repair, charged separately only for diagnosis alone.
PC Tuneup & Optimization
Windows 10 and 11 laptops, desktops and gaming PCs that have slowed to a crawl. We find the actual cause, which is rarely the one the internet blames.
Windows Upgrade
Windows 10 to Windows 11, starting with a real eligibility check and a real backup. In-place or clean install depending on what the machine actually needs.
New PC Setup
Manufacturer bloatware removed, your files and settings migrated, email and accounts configured, and the software you actually use installed and working.
PC Data Transfer
Files, photos, settings and email moved from the old machine to the new one, including the profile and licence details that rarely come across by themselves.
PC Software Installation
Office, Adobe, QuickBooks, business applications, antivirus and drivers on Windows 10 and 11, configured to work together rather than merely installed.
PC Password Recovery
Local accounts, Microsoft accounts and BitLocker. Sometimes recoverable, sometimes genuinely not, and you will be told which before you drive over.
Which PCs We Work On
Windows laptops, desktops, all-in-ones, gaming machines and custom builds. Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, MSI, Microsoft Surface, and plenty of machines with no badge on them at all. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are the everyday work; older installs still appear and we deal with them as they are.
Custom builds are not a problem. Standard parts and an accessible layout usually make a home-built desktop easier to work on than a sealed retail laptop, and the person who built it generally already knows more about it than most customers do, which makes the conversation better rather than worse.
What Actually Makes a Windows PC Slow
Almost every "my computer is too slow" job turns out to be one of a short list, and knowing the list saves people money.
A mechanical hard drive. The most common cause by a distance. A spinning drive is the bottleneck in an otherwise fine machine, and replacing it with an SSD is the change people describe as feeling like a new computer.
Malware. Not always obvious. Plenty of infections do not announce themselves with pop-ups; they simply consume the machine in the background.
Startup and background clutter. Years of installed software each claiming a piece of every boot.
Not enough memory. Especially on machines bought with the minimum and now used with thirty browser tabs open.
Heat and dust. A clogged laptop throttles itself to protect the hardware, and the symptom people notice is slowness rather than temperature.
Which one it is determines whether the fix is fifty dollars of work or a conversation about replacement. That is what the diagnostic is for.
How a PC Drop-Off Works
Call first. We work by appointment at 716-771-2536. Describe the symptom in whatever words you have; you do not need the right terminology.
Free diagnostic. No charge to find out what is wrong. You get the real cause before you get a number.
Honest quote. The figure you are given is the figure you pay. Anything that changes it gets a phone call first.
The work happens here. On our bench, not shipped somewhere and not handed to a subcontractor.
An honest verdict. Including "this one is not worth it." We do not sell hardware, so we have no reason to steer you either way.
Working Across Both Platforms?
The full service list is on the services page, and the Mac equivalents of everything here are on the Mac repair page. Moving between the two, PC to Mac or Mac to PC, is routine work rather than a special case.
